A lot has been said about prayer. All of it misses the point.

So, here is the point.

Prayer is not power. Prayer is authority.

Prayer authors power into motion. Power cannot self actuate.

Prayer is a natural right as are the first ten amendments. It is to be considered pre-existing as are the first ten amendments and not subject to license by anyone or anything.

Prayer "in the Name of Whoever" is privileged use of another's authority. It is not one's inherent, natural authority.

Righteousness is the ability, the authority, of the individual to cleanse himself of false charges. One who accepts false charges against himself is convicted, a convict, and has no rights.

There is absolutely no factual reason that believers of all stripe, as well as non-believers, cannot unite under singular natural right and exercise prayer, authority, in defense of selves and others. The ox is in the well and drowning.

Prayer, the exercise of natural authority, lies between the right to religious beliefs and free speech and the right to keep and bear arms. Natural right 1.5, retained by the people and none else.

Prayer, natural authority, is a two edged sword. It can be, and is, being used against you.

To borrow from the Barbarian, "The true strength of steel is the temper of a man's heart.". The blade, the sharp edge of prayer and authority, is your natural right.

This is a spiritual battle. It will be decided by hard strokes, deft, grim, cold and relentless, yours or theirs.

The thrust of prayer is the point.
