The two things the Cathar Perfects were allegedly supposed to avoid as far as sex is concerned, and keep to a minimum as far as food is concerned. (I also read the ideal way for a Jain to die was to starve to death.) But that's what we seem programmed to live for. The Cathars had it right, so we can't have that; and they were all but wiped completely from the Earth. Not quite, but there's not enough now to make a difference.

Then there's the 'willful ignorance' factor that so many cling to. DON'T TELL ME! I DON'T WANNA KNOW. Ayuh, that 'tude is gonna help ya live so much longer. . .NOT! Not that I see why anyone would want to, but that's just my opinion. (When the tsunami comes, I ain't leavin', and when the ICBMs come in I'm more likely to drive toward ground zero.
