Readers and listeners continuously ask me about the validity of the Beast of the Land Between the Lakes legend. I am offering what I have been told and read over the past decades.

Many years ago, an article written by Jan Thompson detailed some of the earlier accounts that have come out of the area. The website where this article originally appeared was taken down by the author after the story was deemed by some people as fiction. I'm not going to go into that scenario considering the source of the accusations. The article has been reprinted by others though I cannot attest to the exact content those versions presented. There are several investigators in Kentucky and elsewhere who believe that Jan's story is credible.
