Again those are misconceptions:

First in Islam the wife or mother is very important. No one is more important than the mother due to what Prophet Mohammad told us. The wife is cherished due to the fact that she is the mother of the children and we believe the man who treats his wife best is the best.

I live as a Muslim in Jordan for 17 years, 14 I have been alone. I could drive a car if I pleased but I don't own a car and take taxis. I could have my own money and did even when my husband was alive. He kept a cup in the kitchen with all of our money and I could go to Amman or buy anything I wanted. I was never ever abused as this is wrong in Islam. I must say like in all cultures there are men who are abusive.

In Jordan I am free to practice my religion how I want. I can go walking at 10pm and never fear for my life. No carjackings here, no problems of any kind really except money is short. cost of living is much cheaper due to income is much cheaper. My king paid for my pilgrimage years ago including travel, hotels, food and more. He also sent a guide with me to see if I needed anything.

I have the same rights as a man does here except I cannot bring someone into the country and get them citizenship. All that malarky in the paper is just that. Now there are some radical countries like Afghanistan which do not follow the true Islam.

You cannot compare radical Islam to Sunni Islam. But I understand your confusion and not offended, just trying to clarify what really Islam is about.
