History Lesson: That Wall They Bow to Was Never Part of the Hebrew Temple (Stew Peters Video) Posted By: George Eaton

It is always amazing to the Jewish people the way that those who have no understanding of the Jewish religion present themselves as great authorities on Judaism. This is always done in such a way as to not only discredit and debase Judaism and its followers, but to paint this belief system which is the basis of Christianity and Islam as pure Satan worship. Ultimately such tropes are meant to inspire hatred of the Jewish people and to encourage their physical destruction as in "kill the Jews!"
So, here we go again having to set the record straight. The Stew Peters video claims that the Jews are "bowing to a wall" as if the wall to which they appear to be bowing is some sort of representation of the Jewish god that Stew claims is Satan. OK, Stew are you listening? In Judaism there can be no physical representation of God or anything having to do with God. Any such representation is considered to be idol worship which is strictly forbidden. The wall at which Jews pray in Jerusalem is said to be closest to the place where God's presence has been experienced most emphatically on earth. The Temple Mount in Jewish liturgy is where God chose as His dwelling place in the time of King David. Jewish people cannot pray on the Temple Mount because Islam has claimed it for themselves and will not allow it. Jewish prayer at the Western Wall was also impossible until Israel reclaimed that area of Jerusalem from Arab possession in the 1967 war.
Beyond this practice of prayer at the Western Wall, when a Jewish person prays to God he will generally face towards Jerusalem as the seat of the Jewish religion, just like Muslims pray facing towards Mecca no matter where in the world they might be. Synagogues are similarly oriented towards Jerusalem so that as Jewish people pray in synagogue they are facing towards Jerusalem...and ultimately towards the Temple Mount therein.
Finally, there is historical speculation that the Arc of the Covenant was hidden from the Romans upon the destruction of the Second Temple by being buried deep under the site of the Temple, and it is considered by many to still be there. Many Jews believe that when they pray at the Western Wall that they are indeed in close proximity to the Arc that contains the tablets that Moses brought down from Mount Sinai. Again, it is all about closeness to God and maybe to the his Arc that brings Jewish people from around the world to the Western Wall to pray.
So Stew, try this one on for size...as far as the Jewish people are concerned the Western Wall, built of giant stones weighing hundreds of tons is actually transparent...the spiritual energy expressed towards God goes right through it just like light goes through a pane of glass. They're not bowing to a frikkin' wall Stew...got it?
Secondly, Stew claims that the body movement of devout Jews when praying as shown in his video is a symbolic act of Jewish men having sex with a female representation of Satan as supposedly described in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism. This is so beyond wrong that it isn't even funny. Here is why devout Jewish people "sway" when praying...
Devout Jews who are punctilious in their observance customarily sway when they read the Torah, recalling the Giving of the Torah that was accompanied by trembling, as it is written, “The people saw and shuddered.” Similarly, when it comes to praying, it is implied by the verse, “All my bones [entire being] shall say, O Lord, who is like You?” In other words, when Jews praise God during prayer, they do so with their whole selves: the mind, heart and mouth express the prayer through speech, and the rest of the body does so by moving. Every fiber of their being is involved in connecting to their Creator.
There is a saying that a lie goes all the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on. The lies told and shown in Stew Peters' video are vicious misrepresentations of Jewish thought and practice. Jesus speaks against falsehoods in Matthew 15:19, where He lists false testimony among the sins that defile a person, alongside things like theft and murder. While Jesus often spoke of forgiveness for those who repent, lying and deceit are presented as contrary to God's will, aligning with the Ninth Commandment, “You shall not bear false witness.”
I doubt that Jesus would have much to do with Stew Peters who claims to be a great Christian.
