I had never heard of America's Got Talent. I don't even have cable TV. But I have watched a lot of YouTube videos over the years, and if you aren't watching full screen, you will see a lot of suggestions for viewing posted on the right. That's how I was introduced to Darci Lynne Farmer, a twelve-year-old ventriloquist from Oklahoma City. This was in 1917. She was 12 years old at the time.

For a twelve-year-old, Darci was polished and a class act. She even made ventriloquists of old such as Paul Winchell and Shari Lewis look like also rans. If you have never seen her perform, you are in for a surprise and a treat. She amazed the judges and kept the audience cheering every time she came on.

Here she is two years later in 2019, at 14, back to AGT on a wild card, singing Italian opera through Petunia the rabbit. The judges were stunned.
