I spent most of yesterday
crying with friends over the devastation

a couple of our relatives have headed home
two from the Oil camps

so they can give their accommodations up
to the 88,000 people evacuated from Fort Mac

I was raised in Calgary
I'm in a small community in Saskatchewan
where my hubby is from
we have elderly in need of our care

this dry weather happened in the 70's

I can remember one Xmas day and it
was 20 degrees celsius and no snow
whether people call it climate change
ocean currents and weather is undeniably
cyclical

given world Oil prices and the massive
Oil company lay-offs 120,000
I've heard that figure is closer to 200,000
hiring freezes
and the trickling down of several other
job lay-offs from service companies
connected to Oil companies
the job losses are staggering
it sure is an economic hit for Canada

it has been confirmed that the fire
was not started by lightening
