But there's much more to the story than it might appear. Dave had voted for JFK, but after July 1963 --due to the Bay of Pigs disaster --he then began to express hatred for the President.

Dave's anti-Kennedy hatred flowered after the Bay of Pigs, when he lost several young pilots he'd trained there, as well as a young Cuban he knew who suffocated and overheated to death in an unvented metal container filled with Castro's prisoners who arrived dead when the container was opened.
Dave openly expressed his virulently anti-Kennedy sentiments at a meeting of retired military officers held shortly after the Bay of Pigs disaster. H was asked to leave the stage after saying Kennedy should be shot for what happened there. But these retired officers loved what Dave had to say and approached him after the meeting, inviting him to join them in their 'talks' about 'what to do about Kennedy." That's how he was invited into the heart of the plots. They trusted him.
He was soon helping out in various anti-Kennedy meetings and plots because of his knowledge of the anti-Castro movement, his participation in it, his fluent Spanish, and his routes as a commercial pilot between New Orleans and major Texas cities -- and was used to courier messages (more quickly than the US Post office --and without any trace of such communications) between the perpetrators of the plots being fomented in New Orleans and those in Dallas and other major Texas cities. ANYONE WHO THINKS DAVID FERRIE ACTUALLY HATED KENNEDY MUST READ "ME & LEE" and "DAVID FERRIE: MAFIA PILOT."
David Ferrie soon realized that the Bay of Pigs fiasco was a CIA Op and that JFK was set-up to take the blame. By then, Ferrie was deeply enmeshed in several plots to kill JFK. He still retained an outward facade of hating Kennedy, but he told me TO MY FACE the truth: that's how he got information that might be useful to save Kennedy's life. Why did he change his mind? David Ferrie soon saw that JFK fired Allen Dulles and Gen. Charles Cabell. He also saw that it was the CIA, not JFK, that had made such a mess of the Bay of Pigs by keeping Kennedy out of the loop until the president was forced to make unpopular choices.
Then he understood.
But Ferrie was not about to declare that he now supported JFK to these fonts of treachery and murder.

As Dave himself told me, how could Dave get information from the anti-Castro Cubans who were willing to plot against Kennedy if he said he admired JFK? On the contrary, David Ferrie pretended hatred for JFK so he could do what he could to try to save JFK.
His close ties to the the Marcello branch of the Mafia -- and Carlos Marcello was anxious to kill the Kennedy brothers --allowed him to obtain information about their plans to kill Kennedy, as well,

And finally, Ferrie's contacts with the right-wing traitors, such as Clay Shaw and the Dallas bigwigs, plus his links to the CIA, allowed Ferrie to be in a position where he was able to get a good concept of the big picture that has eluded so many.
There is no doubt that Ferrie was able to give Lee Oswald vital information that made it possible for Lee to be able to penetrate the assassination ring in Dallas. I suspect that both he and Dr. Mary Sherman were able to amass enough information about the Chicago Plot that Lee was able to be effective enough in that matter to save JFK's life in Chicago. (Sherman was from Chicago and Dave Ferrie had close ties to Guy Banister, who used to run the FBI office in Chicago and whose hatred of JFK was well known).
This enabled Lee to send warnings, such as the Sunday Telex purportedly sent by Hoover, which is replete with the typical misspellings that indicate Lee himself wrote it. Besides, Lee told me he sent a Telex to warn the FBI of the impending assassination.. KNOW THE TRUTH.
