Hi Morgan, Cath... (Morgan don't look at the pics below :-)

My own son, who is 40 this year, says he's not sure if he ever wants kids. Every once in awhile he says he would like a little son or maybe a cute little girl who looks like my DIL but then changes his mind. Usually after they babysit one of 6 nieces :-) My other two children keep having loads of kids ..

I've seen a growing trend among 20-something and even 30 something kids. They don't seem to want kids. Most are too busy working on their careers or just running around, traveling etc to want to slow the pace and raise kids.. You're not alone and there is nothing wrong with not wanting to be around kids.. It's just the way you are..

Personally, I adore them.. Well, that's not true.. I adore them when they are newborn and you can hold them while they sleep.. You can keep them from the age of about 7 months and until they begin to walk.. I've raised my three and the ball and chain of a pre-toddler is heavy.. (Entertain me, wah, wah, I'm awake hold me 24/7 :-)) I still love them but from afar.. Now, when they start to become mobile and say things like 'Ba-sketti' and 'I Love you Maw Maw..' I'll adopt them forever, asap..

As they get older, they're not children to me anymore (grade school age) but spirits in young bodies.. It's staggering to think that the things you do with them help those spirits grow, or not. Playing games, going for walks, doing crafts or cooking together becomes an adventure instead of a chore.. Like Cath, running your hand across their brow brings joy.. (well, to me..)

PS.. I used to run the nursery at our church (years ago).. 95% of the children were fun to be around but some of them were tiny little psychopaths in the making.. Seriously, you could tell that they had no remorse or were born vicious..

I've got some outrageously silly grand-girls and ones with good hearts.. Lucky in that regard..
