This seems like an exaggeration to me, but it is possible and needs to be considered. I do believe there is a connection between the situation in North Korea and the situation in Iran and the possibility of conflict in the Middle East. I do believe that Russia should not defend Iran, but instead encourage them to stop their missile programs. The more Iran increases their military power, the more nervous Israel gets.
Syria as well needs to break ties with all terrorists groups and not allow them on their territory. For the past few decades Iran has gained a feeling of invulnerability concerning Israel. This is a dangerous false feeling of peace. Iran is flirting with disaster with their missile testing and any type of nuclear advances they have made. If they have contacts with North Korea who is to say they couldn't acquire nukes from North Korea? As it stands now Syria is in ruins as well as northern Iraq from the war against ISIS. It is highly possible Iran could be targeted next. Currently Iran has been helping and funding the war in Yemen against Saudi Arabia. Iran has also been rumored to be helping in the war in Syria against ISIS and any forces fighting in Syria like the Kurds that are also joined with the US. It is possible a war could break out between Syria/Russia and the Kurds. There are Iranian backed Hezbollah forces in Syria fighting for Syria along with regular Iranian forces. The stage is set for a conflict to erupt in Syria against US forces and the SDF, which are mostly Kurds. In my opinion not enough is being done diplomatically to stop this race towards war. So far the US and Russia has been playing a proxy war against each other, but it could ignite into a direct war against each other at anytime.
Israel has been very concerned about the increasing military strength of Iran and their incursions into Syria and other countries close to Israel. The closer Iranians forces are to Israel the more danger it brings to their country. This is a common sense observation. The truth is, as these things develop if Israel feels threatened by Iran in the slightest degree they will do a pre-emptive attack against Iran. Once that happens the US will defend and support Israel. At that point Russia will have a decision to make regarding defending Iran or not, which would lead to a direct war with the US. At no time in history has Israel been in a better position to attack Iran and also be defended by the US. The strong ties from Trump towards Israel allows Israel to feel they will be defended by the US at all costs. This may give the Israeli leadership an incentive to go ahead with an attack against Iran.
It has been my opinion for some time that the war against North Korea would precipitate a war in the Middle East. The obvious victory the US would have against North Korea would then embolden the US to go to war in the Middle East, namely against Iran and any forces that are aligned with Iran. I have noticed that anytime the talking heads mention North Korea they also mention Iran. It is possible there is a connection in one form or another. But it is not possible to know what will happen or when, or what the probabilities are for a war between Israel and Iran. But I do feel there is a window of opportunity for Iran and Russia to defuse this situation and avoid war if they will see reason and seek a diplomatic solution. Unfortunately I am not very optimistic that will happen.
