Re: I had no Idea Tapioca was Yucca!!!

In Response To: I had no Idea Tapioca was Yucca!!! (Susoni)

I have some of the commercial tapioca pearls, and have ground them to make flour, but I don't think I've ever had tapioca pudding. I was surprised when I bought the tapioca in that form, and couldn't quite figure out how they made a pudding out of it! I always get a big smile when I learn something new ... did you know that the same chemical that is released when we learn (not just a fact, because it implies the satisfaction of understanding) something new is the same chemical released when we have an orgasm? That's the way it was put in an old video, but today I think they'd simply say that we get a hit of dopamine. Imagine the effects of having the learning process frustrated by poor quality education and then derailed by one or more things or other - seductive media, money, etc.

That much more!!! Yikes, but I see we have another similar issue ... the piano in our lives. Mines an old upright that I haven't been able to play much for quite a while now. My current office is in my small living room, which is part of the same space as my kitchen/dining area. There is also a bathroom/laundry closet and a bedroom on this upper level. Most of my life is in boxes in the lower living space. I'm not getting any younger even if I fully recover; I want to live in a bungalow. One of the key features is that it has a fireplace. Without that I would've had to go to a shelter during a power failure of almost a week a few years ago - I couldn't have done that in my condition (not even now), and not with my cat.

Have you measured all your movables? I have a list somewhere of all of mine that was very helpful as I planned the renovations in my former house with graph paper and paper cut-out furniture. It can be surprising what can sometimes fit together. I've taken the legs off one of two bureaus and stacked them in at least 2 living spaces, for example.

: I used to eat Tapioca pudding as a child. I've not had it in
: years and years. I think my brothers and myself thought the
: little pieces were rice or pieces of broken rice ... Ha,
: you learn something new everyday..

: Anna, No.. we've not found 'it' just yet. Built in bookcases
: are just on my wish list. I did find one that checks off

: all the boxes on that wish list but I'd need about $450,000
: dollars more to swing it.. lol Maybe a lottery win ??:-)))
: Oh, she was a beauty though!!

: I have a baby-grand piano that I've owned since I was 21. The
: living-room has to be large enough to accommodate that. I
: could, possibly, use a dining-room area if the kitchen was
: large enough for a family sized table or maybe an office
: space in an extra bedroom. Maybe we could combine it to be
: an office-library-music room .. ??
