I would like to present this idea for feed back.

I seems like earthquakes, sink holes, volcanoes and related phenomena may have a single common cause, that cause being shrinkage of the Earth's mantle. It wouldn't take much contraction over twenty some odd thousands of miles in any direction to manifest these phenomena.

If one might presume that a steady state charge in the planet produces a stable magnetosphere then a declining magnetosphere would indicate a declining planetary charge. The magnetosphere seems to have been in measurable decline for about the last twenty seven hundred years.

If one were to go further and presume that the electrical charge in the planet was “dragged” through the mantel (conductor) by an attractive force from the moon then heat from the moving charge through crustal resistance would keep the mantel at a somewhat uniform temperature. Moving charge through resistance equals heat.

If planetary charge is being lost to the very thin atmosphere of space over time then heat in the mantel would decrease by fact of less current flow with the result being mantel contraction. This contraction would yield fissures, sink holes, earth quakes and related items and, indirectly, volcanoes.

Current flow when redirected by fissures (high resistance) to narrow conductive zones would yield high heat similar to the hot filament in an incandescent light bulb when current is directed through that narrow resistance. If magma is produced under the right conditions in these narrow conductive zones then a volcanic eruption occurs.

One might hypothesize that increasing the planetary charge to what it was about twenty seven hundred years ago would slow crustal disruptions or even stabilize the crust. Conversely one might expect things to become increasing dangerous if planetary charge continues to decrease.
