A better approach to covid-dissonance, when discussing the matter with those who exhibit challenged aptitude with regard to intelligent command of reason and emotion, would be to shift the responsibility for protecting their health away from one's self to those entities which claim legal responsibility for protecting their health.

No state, county, city or other entity would issue a health order that exposed the entity to meaningful litigation. Health and legal departments will scrutinize any writ to insure proof against singular and class action suit. Money and power protects itself first.

It then follows that no part of a health order, including exemptions, will jeopardize individual or public health. There is no intelligent argument against this as the covid-disonant have tacitly admitted, by adhering to the order, that they believe in and have faith in the issuing entity. A covid-disonant arguing against a mask exemption should be politely informed that you are, in fact, in full compliance with the order, that the order confirms that you are no threat to other's health and that their only legal recourse is to the issuing entity and not to you.

At this point wisdom would suggest that you disengage and try not to waste too much energy wondering how much toilet paper the covid-disonant wastes trying to sanitize a hole in the ground.

In all fairness there are some who actually do benefit from wearing a mask. As to whether that benefit is material or placebo is not important.

It would also be wise to contact the main office of any commercial entity that you plan to do business with and ask if that entity is fully complying with the order, including exemptions. If the entity states that compliance is less than full simply say, politely, that you have no choice but to report the entity for non-compliance, and then do it. Non-compliance applies to the entity as well as the public.

Essentially, what the above does is avoid all conflicting data, opinions, studies and similar and places the responsibility for personal and public health on the entity issuing the health order. There is no rational rebuttal. All recourse is directed to the issuing entity.
