Hemp oil and cannabis, in recent years, has shown great promise in its ability to treat serious illnesses including cancer. In fact, cannabis, remains one of the most hot button issues in the medical community at this time. According to research some 50 years ago, the human body has cells that are specifically designed to interact with cannabis and cannabinoids. Raphael Mechoulam, an Israeli researcher, discovered that the body actually produces compounds similar to those found in marijuana naturally. This would suggest that cannabinoids have some sort of role in the human body, and thus, in larger concentrations could be helpful in helping the body fight off infections and interact with cancer cells.
Studies in the 1970s and 1980s, further suggested that cannabinoids could potentially shrink tumors, and later research found that rats exposed to high levels of THC actually lived longer and had fewer instances of cancer than rats that were not exposed to THC. So, what does all of this mean? At the moment, nothing really. Hard data regarding the effect of hemp oil on human patients have not yet been completed, however, anecdotal stories of this homeopathic treatment fighting off tumors and cancer are becoming more and more common.
