Run your virus scanner or if it happens again, hover your cursor over the pop-up screen and right click.. Then click on inspect element.. That should tell you what the malware is named..

Write the name down and write it into a search engine like google.. It will tell you if it is a malware, trojan or some other insidious virus that has found it's way onto your computer..

I had to laugh when you gave the tech guy hell lol Hope more do that instead of falling for their sales pitch..
