Lymerick,
I was hesitating whether I should add this post to the thread or not, because you have nicely wrapped the things up. From your post it feels like you are not completely satisfied with my response because it was a general explanation, while you expected a specific answer relevant exclusively to the Dutchsinse theory. To fill in this gap, here it is how I would translate the general principles I mentioned into specific actions regarding the new Time theory.
1. General: “Lies and false information that already permeate the internet should be exposed…”
Specific: You have seen that the new Dutchsinse theory is spreading in wide circles and if it is false then it can deceive many people. But, if it is true then it would deserve your enthusiastic help to spread the good news. The first step would be to find out whether it is false or correct. If you are not sufficiently armed with knowledge of Physics, you could ask the opinion of physicists or civil engineers (ex. from the field of mechanics, electronics, architecture) preferably in private to avoid spreading links to a possible hoax. You can find such people on technical forums online as well, or in person among your friends.
If a private opinion is not possible or does not yield satisfactory results, then you can ask for expert opinion openly on public forums, while making it clear that you don’t know whether it is true or false, and you are not endorsing it. You have just performed this last option, except that it was not very clear that you are not endorsing it. You got one opinion and critique from me. If you are not convinced that my critique is correct, then you can ask for second opinion, then third opinion etc. from others who have sufficient relevant knowledge to properly evaluate. This may happen simultaneously in several forums if necessary. When you are satisfied with the expert opinions then you decide which one you want to believe (if they are contradictory, which one makes more sense to you) and act accordingly. Next step:
2. General:“…then this exposure should be spread into all the channels where the hoax is spreading.”
Specific: Let’s assume you believe that my critique is correct and the Dutchsinse theory is false. Next step would be to inform Dutchsinse about the critique and see if he would acknowledge his blunder and retract the theory publicly himself. If he does that, then the case is closed. If not, and you want to resist the spreading of disinformation, then you supposed to spread the link to the critique (or the copied text) into those channels where the followers believe in the validity of the theory.
3. General:“Once a hoax has been busted, one should not promote it anymore as if the bust would have never happened. It should be either ignored or if it is necessary to talk about it, then discuss it as being a proven hoax. When the disinfo agents still tenaciously promote the hoax, then everyone in the know should resist the attempt and protest, pointing to the busting of the deception.”
Specific: RMN is (hopefully) not one of those channels anymore where people believe this theory is correct. So obviously one should not promote the theory here anymore, or at other outlets where people don’t know about the theory. If you see someone promoting it again, then you would protect the truth if you would protest, and let everyone know that it has been already proven to be a false theory.
I also thank you for your interest and patience to read the lengthy posts.
Cheers,
Morpheus
