Don't you just hate the youtube misleading titles on a lot of their vids!! Most of them have robotic voice overs .. I've fallen for a few of them myself..

Yellowstone - Over the millenniums, each eruption of Yellowstone has gotten smaller and smaller. The plume is, more or less, stationary. However, the land is slowly sliding westward..

I have a friend who is a volcanologist-geologist, and he used to laugh when all the Yellowstone stuff would circulate. According to him; Yes, it is going to erupt. Yes, it will be mighty, especially when the lake hits the lava (a hydrothermal explosion).. It will change the landscape of small parts of MT, WY, and Idaho.. But it will be very survivable.. A lot of the super volcano theorist say it has not erupted for (I think) 600,000 years.. The last one was about 65 or 70 thousand years ago.. (not sure of exact timing).. Loads of lava releasing eruptions since 600,000 yrs ago..

According to him, most of the West Coast volcanos are interconnected, like underground plumbing. They all 'leak' so they're letting off pressure. That's a good thing.

He did say that if someone were to drop a n - uu kk ee down it's throat, all bets are off.. :-)

Is he right? I don't know. I do know that he's had a whole lotta years studying these bastards..
