I was never much of a Beatles fan and considered a lot of what they put out to be junk that only worked because of the size of their fan base. But I kind of took to Paul when he went on to start his own band, Wings. Band on the Run, Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, and Live and Let Die, the title song for the James Bond movie -- the first featuring Roger Moore -- were a few of my favorites from back then.

Still alive among some of the Beatles' old fans is the controversy -- some call a conspiracy theory -- that Paul died in and automobile accident in 1966 and was replaced with a double.

It was probably just a publicity stunt to garner attention -- and the Beatles did leave some clues, or what some thought were clues -- to keep the notion alive. But as for Paul dying and being replaced, I don't think so. It would have taken a miracle to find another left handed electric base player who also sang, played piano, and wrote hit songs.

Fil, a British musician with a YouTube channel called Wings of Pegasus, who does computer voice analysis in some of his videos, compared Paul McCartney's pre and post 1966 singing and came to the conclusion that the voices were the same.
