Freedom means being able to take care of yourself. It means responsibility, and accountability. It means keeping obligations to a minimum. There's also the mental attitude of 'nothing to lose'. That sorta comes with the 'tude of 'I'm livin' for the next world, not this POS!' It means PERSONAL SOVEREIGNTY, and depending on as little outside of yourself as possible! Not easy, huh? Just ask anyone off grid.

Guess I answered my own question. I suppose people consider it easier to just be in a prison of stifling traditions and social constructs. The path of least resistance, huh? I suppose that explains a lot of social inequities that most do not fight to repair. In fact, it seems quite a few embrace those social inequities.

Am I there? Well, I'm a wage slave who has to go grocery shoppin', and considerin' I don't feel like workin' 40 odd hours a week anymore (Yes, I have a choice.), I do need the help of my flatmate to pay for 49% of the rent, so no in that sense. On the other hand, mentally I have left this world behind aeons ago.
