If you stand over here and look at The World, it looks like The World is turning in the right direction. If you stand over there... which I refuse to do, but which I keep hearing about, then... The World looks like it’s not going anywhere at all, and there are just a lot of cosmetic changes to make the residents feel like something is happening, when... down in the nuts and bolts department the same screws are still loose, so... sooner or later one of the wheels is going to come off.

There’s some kind of dance that happens whenever Material Culture decides that The World should go on Spring Break. A certain group of dedicated materialists see that as their moment to shine like dew on the illusion of a perfect ass. Apuleius tried to tell us but the same cases of mistaken identity just go on... and on... and on. The pages of history whip by too fast to see and we find ourselves riding shotgun with Dr. Pangloss in the best of all possible worlds, and there never is or shall be such a thing down here.
