Yes, we watched the John Wick movies. As you said, they are over-filled with violence. So much so that I wound up dragging my laptop in my lap, and working, or surfing, or anything to distract me from the endless carnage. It seemed as if each movie was worse than their predecessors.
He loves them, I love Keanu's acting, but not in these flicks. I jokingly call movies like this the 'Murder, kill, kill' movies. I found the Jeremy Renner (Arrow of the Avengers) TV series, 'Kingstown' much the same. The same with shows like Dexter, and Breaking Bad. Each episode seems to be like the previous ones. Killing, rage, and more killing. Whatever happened to good writing, good scripts, and great storytelling? Why are they all about the Villains instead of the heroes?
I'm not advocating for 'Hallmark' movies :-) No way!! :-) Just more scripts with a great story, and less about killing and gratuitous sex. Outlander (the Series, from the Book series) is a great story. Written and filmed well, and even though there are war scenes, and battle scenes (and sex scenes) it's not the focus of the series. The story remains the priority. The first two seasons are the best. After that, they just got lazy. I'd rather read a good book :-)
We can meet up on Wednesday, as we talked about before, to discuss how to get your photos embedded into the posts, and how to (possibly) link to an animated gif. We can do it on Tuesday, if you'd like. Or Thursday.
Keep writing and doing what you do!
All the Best,
