my Mom is a miracle
not once but twice

when she was 2 years old she happened to get
her hands on some "Winter's Green Liniment"
a rubbing compound for pain and infection back in the 30's
her Father, my grandfather was seriously wounded in WW1
and he used it to keep his leg before it went to gangrene
he was in a wheel chair after returning from the war

he had a bullet lodged in his spine, that could not be removed
well Mom got her hands on this wonderful smelling stuff and drank it
Grandma realized what had happened and stuffed dry mustard down
her throat and rushed her to the hospital
She remembers been in a coma for sometime
she came out of the coma and was not doing very well
they could not get her eating anything
The Doctor said to Grandma
go and get the purest buttermilk you can find and see
if she can hold that down
It worked, she remembers drinking this buttermilk and
eating mashed potatoes for a very long time
Shortly afterwards my Mother went blind
they think it was a side affect of the liniment
She was blind for about 18 mos to 2 years
and one day her eye sight returned
She said she was about 4 1/2 when her eyesight returned

to this day she refers to a higher power having
and hand in that experience
I believe our destiny is written in the stars
so does she
She also believes that our minds are more powerful
than we think
So do I
