Buying, selling and trading suggests mortal markets. Immortal devices don't get traded in material commerce but living bodies of both men and cattle can be and are traded in in certain commercial circles. The bodies of both men and cattle are registered with the Ship of State, a subsidiary of Vessel of Earth.

There are individuals who are registered by name as corporations; Name Here Inc.. Observation would find these individuals in governments and in higher corporate and other positions. Additionally there are positions of title and office which place individuals above common status.

All are aware that men in positions of influence, whether in business, government, NGO's and similar things do frequently change alliances, loyalties, employment, occupations, etc..
