We got a fair amount of snow mixed with the same as before, and it's really like trying to shovel wet sand - bad for my back and hard on my heart. The man who plows my driveway misjudged the quantity/drifting a bit (decided to plow after the road plow had gone by); after going out to do some errands yesterday, I got stuck in the entrance to the driveway because the big metal culvert connecting the ditches on either side of the driveway needs more gravel where a depression has formed along it ... my tires couldn't make it out of the dip and up and over the layer of wet snow/ice without a lot more shovelling. I managed to get my car in far enough to be well out of the way of the snowplow and wait until the mess melts. The owner is leaving his conjointe (and mother of his children) and moving back here, so I'll let him know that he should add some gravel there - he has a low-riding economy car too.
Thank you for the glimpse of spring in your post below ... maybe you'll share some pics? It's supposed to go up to 61F on Saturday, so there's always hope that this winter's snow will be gone for good soon!
