I found this hanging on the wall in the back room. It serves no purpose, but I thought I might dust it off and share it. I don't know why.

The crocodile eats by tearing off chunks. In the process bone and gristle and hide get lodged between its teeth. Nature has designed a program on spindly little bird legs that assist cleaning this debris from the crocodile's teeth. The program is manifest as ...a bird.

T Rex, and variants, have crocodilian teeth and therefore must eat in the same fashion as a crocodile with resultant debris to be cleaned from the teeth. Whereas T-Rex is not designed to lay on the ground with its mouth open, nature has manifested the tooth cleaning program as spindly little bird legs with sturdy claws in close proximity to the mouth to effect cleaning.

Most dinosaurologists like to puzzle over the function of the disproportionately tiny "arms" of the Rex variations.

As i see it the real puzzle is, are the little arms more closely related to the bird feeding itself program or to the tooth cleaning program?

One of life's deeper mysteries for sure.
