I expect that you both know this, but ... if you scroll down, all the posts, from both page 1 and page 2, are there! :-) I expect we'd find a limit to that linkage - when archived if not before. Did you design this site, Hobie?

: The main page at CGI holds the latest 10 days' posts. If you
: post a reply to something posted 8 days ago, both will be
: visible on the main page at first. After 10 days, the
: original post will scroll to page 2 but the reply post
: (only a few days old) will remain on the main page until
: it, too, is more than 10 days old.

: The same is true in the Reading Room, except that there the
: main page is set for 4 days instead of 10, because the
: volume of posts is so much greater there.

: If the post is in reply to an earlier post, that earlier post
: is listed near the top of the new post. And if the post is
: part of a thread, you can see the thread listing at the
: bottom of the post.

: When posts are finally moved into the Archive they can no
: longer be replied to directly.
