I was joined for coffee this morning by a rather interesting thought. We discussed the enormous inconsistency of a giant said slain by a small stone.

As the light of day began to make itself known to mystery that abides in darkness, we recalled that the armor of the giant was made such that neither arrow nor lance could make incursion into crevice, nor could edge of sword laid hard cause injury. Reason might rightfully presume that helmet be the same quality of craft as the suit leaving no chance for defeat.

That a stone struck the giant in the forehead becomes then an insurmountable inconsistency, unless the giant was not what we have been led to believe.

It might dawn on the curious mind that these were the days when strong magic and sorcery were commonplace and often wielded as weapons on the battlefield. The giant may have been but the shadow of flesh and blood minded from a distance by another in possession of self. It matters not if the giant was natural living body or clay or other, if it was minded by another it would effectively be a golem and not subject to defeat as would be a natural body minded of itself. In light of this view there would be no need for any apertures in the face of the helmet if the one minding from a distance can see the battle field from that distance, limited imaginings not withstanding. The stone now becomes a spiritual stroke incapacitating the one minding the golem and thus the golem itself affording opportunity for dismemberment.

The stone is no longer inconsistent.

In this day there is a vast army of golems arrayed at all levels against what is left of the republic. The styles of their armor varies but the craft and workmanship is effective against incursion of intelligence and edge of common sense laid hard.

It is not enough to stand against this mindless array when the Earth is awash in bodies awaiting conscription. The stroke of inherent individual and collective spiritual authority must cleave the the focus and intent of that mind which works from distance. The battlefield is not material. This battle will not be won by force of arms.
