We still call 'em 'caged gerbil shooters', since gerbils are illegal in calipornia, hence they'd have no problem blowing one out of its cage; and there is a video of both a 'gerbil shooter' pepper spraying a squirrel in a park, and another one of one actually shooting at a squirrel in a store on line, and I think gerbils are close enough.

San Marino, CA — As the Free Thought Project reports—on a regular basis—police officers are caught in fits of road rage all the time. While road rage is an unfortunate reality in America, when a police officer is involved, the situation becomes far more dangerous as they have authority, and they have a gun. All too often police officers will be caught road raging on innocent citizens and it is the citizen who suffers. However, the following instance is one we have never seen. Two cops began a fit of road rage with each other and it ended with one of the cops in the hospital with a gunshot wound.

According to authorities, the incident began Sunday morning just after 8:30 a.m., when an off-duty L.A. County Sheriff’s deputy noticed a Subaru allegedly driving recklessly through a neighborhood. The off-duty cop then gave chase in his Mercedes Benz, according to San Marino police, to tell the driver of the Subaru to slow down.

A video that surfaced last Friday of two Georgia police officers punching and then kicking the head of a man under arrest may seem like just the latest in a recent spate of possible police brutality cases. But a new study led by Dr. Elinore Kaufman of New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center suggests that the issue has been a consistent phenomenon well before social media and Youtube brought such violent encounters to wide attention.

Kaufman and her colleagues used data on emergency department visits from The Nationwide Emergency Department Sample to measure how many emergency room visits were the result of an encounter with law enforcement. With little change from 2006 to 2012, the researchers found that about 51,000 Americans were injured each year in encounters with police.
