I don’t remember the year but after the Shah was ousted, I read in Newsweek or Times an article in which it was told that the Americans had sold two super quality banknote printing press machines to him and the machines had fallen into the hands of the Revolution Guard. In the article, it was theorized that the Iranians will print counterfeit US banknotes and other currencies, exactly what has happened on a massive scale later. It was a stupid thing to sell such machines to the tottering Shah but the Americans have done many stupid things and gotten away with them until now. How about the future?
