I agree - nothing like silliness to lighten a load - I really enjoy a good laugh. I just tried to watch a US version of Men Behaving Badly on Youtube and couldn't make it through more than a few minutes - same reaction as the first and second-to-last time I watched it; NOT FUNNY. I was, like you, somewhat appalled by the Sex in the City program I watched. I couldn't believe that people spent their time watching it, but at the same time I wondered how it was affecting the more impressionable - especially those who believe that all women want is money power and sex.

Not sure about the scene changes causing hypnosis, but the jump cuts cross the axis and mess with our brains. Have you ever tried to watch Pewdiepie? He's really funny sometimes, but the jump cuts will hurt your head - maybe my inflamed brain more than others, but jump cuts are really bad for young developing brains.

And an example of an unfunny funny kid's cartoon ... remember the Flintstones? And how in the opening credits Pebbles or Bam Bam would jump on Fred's stomach while he was sleeping? I wonder how many little kids copied that because it was supposed to be funny ... I learned that it definitely was not, which probably opened my eyes to the potential "dangers" of cartoon watching.

hmmmm ... sorry to end this on an unfunny story, but I guess that's where it goes with TV programming.
